About this programme

The aviation industry is undergoing one of the most significant transformations in its history. While air transport continues to connect economies and societies worldwide, airports are increasingly expected to reduce their environmental impact, improve operational efficiency, embrace digital innovation, and contribute to global climate objectives. Modern airports are no longer evaluated solely on operational performance. They are expected to become intelligent, energy-efficient, low-carbon and climate-resilient infrastructures.

What you'll learn

  • Explain the key international regulatory frameworks governing airport sustainability and carbon management.
  • Describe the main drivers, barriers and enablers of green airport transformation in a European and global context.
  • Identify and evaluate smart technologies applicable to airport operations and energy management.
  • Conduct a basic carbon footprint assessment for an airport operational unit using recognised methodologies.
Applications close 28 February 2027
